Bad Breath could also be caused by gastrointestinal diseases such as H. pylori infection (bacterial infection of the small intestine and abdominal lining), and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) where gastric acid often rises into the esophagus.

If this disease is the cause of your bad breath, the doctor will probably recommend an endoscopic examination. Endoscopy is a procedure that is carried out with the use of a device called an endoscope to examine the area inside the body.

If bad breath is caused by GORD or H. pylori infection, your doctor may need to recommend you to see a digestive system specialist. Handling it will depend on the cause of the disease.
