Reasons Why You Feel Exhausted All the Time

Articles 10 Mei 2018

Have you ever wondered why you often feel so tired? Fatigue can cause various problems. For example, about 1 in 25 adult drivers are reported asleep behind the wheel each month and it could lead to an accident. Here are some of the most common reasons for the cause of fatigue and what you can do to bounce back.

1. Lack of sleep

People aged between 18 and 60 years need 7 hours of sleep or more daily to improve optimal health, according to The American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Sleep Research Society. Being under recommended bedtime every night is not only related to fatigue, disturbed performance, and greater risk of accidents, but also has adverse health effects. These include obesity, high blood pressure, depression, heart disease, stroke, and an increased risk of death.

2. The wrong diet

The easiest way to get rid of fatigue is to make adjustments to your diet. Eating a healthy and balanced diet can make the world different from what you feel. To improve your health and get all the nutrients you need-and eliminate fatigue-it’s important to choose healthy food mixes from five food groups: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein, and milk.

3. Excessive stress

Many situations can cause stress. Jobs, financial problems, relationship problems, major life events, and unemployment, and mourning – the list of causes of stress never ends. A little stress can be healthy and may actually make us more alert and able to do better in tasks like interviews, but stress is only a positive thing if not for long. Excessive and prolonged stress can cause physical and emotional fatigue and cause illness.

4. Medical condition

If you have made lifestyle changes related to physical activity, diet, stress levels, and sleep but still feel tired all the time, there may be underlying medical conditions. Some of the most common conditions associated with fatigue as the main symptoms include:

  • Anemia
  • Diabetes
  • Depression
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Heart disease
  • Pregnancy
  • Deficiency of vitamins and minerals

If you are worried about having a medical condition that causes you to feel tired, arrange an appointment with your doctor to discuss your concerns as soon as possible.
