Articles 1 Feb 2018

Dry skin make us uncomfortable and does not look good. One of the causes of dry skin is the lack of fluid in the outermost layer of the skin. Dry skin is also commonly referred to as xerosis or xeroderma. Whatever the cause is, here are some tips that you can do to overcome dry skin.

1. Use a moisturizer

The use of soap when you are showering can cause the loss of the natural oil on the skin. This is the thing that causes the skin feel dry at the time after the shower. The more you use the soap, the less the natural oil layer on your skin. Therefore, the use of moisturizer is one of the important things to do after bathing.

2. Try to avoid hot bath

Try to avoid bath with hot water because hot water more quickly remove the natural oil on your skin compared with warm water or cold water. Long shower can also cause dry skin. Limit your bath time duration for about 5-10 minutes a day.

3. Drinking water

The skin moisture is also affected by the water supply to your body because our body is basically composed of 70% more liquid. If the body feels less fluid, the skin will become dry. So, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to avoid it.

4. Stop smoking and avoid the smoke

A research study at Harvard University proves that smoking can reduce the moisture in the skin, making it look dry, dull, and cracked. In addition to quitting smoking, you should also avoid the smoke. Because cigarette smoke can inhibit the production of oil glands in the skin.
